Acoustic music!
Mathew Quilliam is "an all-round ukulele wizard!” says Fragile Lucy, Ukulele Radio Show, 2022 so be prepared for something different! Based in southern UK, his travels have brought him to appear at Grand Northern, Bracklesham, Isle of Wight, Yeovil and Shrewkfest Ukulele Festivals, Chichester Jazz Club, Concorde Club Eastleigh, Princess Hall Aldershot, Oktoberfest Swindon, Didcot Railway Centre, Weyfest, Abbey Road Studios & internationally in Italy, France, Germany and Poland. On top of that, he has composed for a handful of albums and films, educational and examined ukulele material for the ABRSM, London College of Music and the London Ukulele Project, as well as written live pit band music for Chichester Festival Theatre.
Muntjac is a rock cover band based in Reading consisting of Dan (guitar & vocals), Andy (drums) and Dave (bass & vocals). They met via Meetup a decade ago. Muntjac want to find the sensitive side to Nu Metal and make pop songs anxious. Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl is their creative muse, admittedly more by accident than by design..
Graham Young (aka The Martian Pariah) is a local singer/songwriter and plays solo acoustic, originals and covers, mainly in the rock/blues genre. He was in the rock band No Connection for 20 years and with the Spanish/Latin acoustic act Los Dos Gringos for 14 years, has played in six different countries and made 15 albums.
Andy Lavery has honed his craft as a performer and singer-songwriter on guitar and keyboards in a variety of iconic line-ups and folk clubs, festivals and venues in the UK, Europe and beyond. He’ll be sticking to guitar for this appearance including tracks from his album Twilight which was one of Rock ‘n’ Reels reviewers 3 great albums of 2023.
Dave King needs no introduction. . . he is very well known around a vast area of Didcot and Reading, looking for his camel while filling reams of books with self-penned songs and poems. This month is very special for him as it is his 55th birthday special!
Ben Lawrance plays wonderful self-penned songs often about animals and infrastructure. Hmmm. If you are arachnophobic, watch out! Listen to him on Bandcamp.
